Introduction

In this session, 2 Timothy chapter 4: 9-22, we focus on understanding the final charge for the soldiers of the army of the lord who represent Christ on the hostile earth. Paul pointed out that his brothers will become hostile, but one needs to become a bold representative as a soldier of the lord.

Objectives

By the end of this session, the learner will have:

  • Understood the principles of becoming a submissive representative of the Father amid hostile brothers by listing them from the given verses.
  • Understood the principles of developing the spirit and heart of boldness to the next generation (emerging leaders) in a hostile environment.
  • Listed the evil qualities of people in the last days, which make them terrible times
  • Appreciated receiving a biblical view of to last days, self, evil people, your mentor, and scriptures

  • Gather with two or more people for a community discovery bible study session.
  • Start with a heartfelt prayer, inviting God to guide and bless your understanding.
  • Explore the passage by reading it at least twice, using different Bible versions if available, then retell the story together as a group.
  • Reflect and share the challenges and blessings you experienced from the previous study.

  • Read 2 Timothy 4:9. Why did Paul request Timothy to come as soon as he could?
  • Read 2 Tim 4: 9-22. List Paul’s companions and his competitors. What did Paul say about his companions and competitors, and how they affected his ministry?
  • Read 2 Timothy 4:11. Who was Mark? How did he relate to Paul? How did the relationship between Paul and Mark heal? Acts 13:5, 13-14. Acts 15: 37-40. 1 Peter 5: 13
