Introduction
In the previous session, we saw Jesus visiting a home of his friends in Bethany where some people worshipped him while others dishonored him, currently in this session of John 12:12-26, we observe Jesus visiting the city of Jerusalem and some of the people worship him while other dishonored him. The crowd that followed him had wrong expectations, that Messiah would save them from the current Roman slavery immediately. The chorus… Hosanna means, “Lord save now”.
Objectives
By the end of this session, the learner will have:
- Understood the principles of worship when Jesus visits us by looking at Jesus visit to a home, visit to a city and his visit to the temple.
- Realized the misplaced expectations people had on Jesus as he entered the city.
- Appreciated Jesus final journey to Jerusalem to offer sacrifice for us

- Read John 12: 12-19. How did Jesus enter Jerusalem? What do we learn about Jesus? Who are the people mentioned in these verses? How did the people respond to his coming? What does this tell you about people?
- Read John 12: 20-26. While visiting a new church, who do you consult about worship? Why? Why did the Greeks wanted to see Jesus? List 5 truths Jesus revealed about his coming death.

- Engage with the Bible—read, study, memorize, meditate, pray, listen, and live it out.
- List three lessons you have learnt as an agent of change that you would like to put into practice and teach others about.
